Hunter Moon, and the Mailing list

August 4th, 2008

It’s almost done. Jonny, sent us the masters to review this past Thursday and everything is sounding great. We’ve been hard at work on figuring out the artwork. It won’t be long now.

Ben was kind enough to set up a mailing list on Facebook for the record. If you have a Facebook account you can join the group if you’d like to know when the record is ready.

Here: Spirits of the Red City Mailing List

If you don’t have a Facebook account but would still like us to let you know when you can get a copy of the record, just send an email to spirits@spiritsoftheredcity.com with “Mailing List” in the subject line and we’ll let you know, and hug you, or buy you a beer, or both.

Chicago

July 24th, 2008

We’ve got some great friends in Chicago. We like Chicago. We were lucky enough to be able to play a show with a bunch of fantastic bands, great people, good food. Here are some:

Osmo Whitely

The Botticellis

Outpost

Mittens on Strings

Osmo made this video of us while we were there: Mirror

Thanks Osmo.

Goodbye to James, for now, don’t go.

June 25th, 2008

We’ll still be working with him from Minneapolis, but for now, our good friend and cellist, James, will be heading out to New York to study in a graduate program. We’re going to miss him. James has been an unspeakably huge part of Spirits, both musically and emotionally. Both in it’s creation and it’s just now infantile fruition.

When he returns we hope to be as grizzled as he, with a glass in our hands and tools in our hearts.

We played one last show with him this past Friday. Will Markwardt’s friend Erin (who is a brilliant photographer) took a few photos and posted them over here: mserinnicole.com, thanks Erin.

We’ll miss you for now James, really.

Oh, and don’t forget buddy, have a good time, and say hello to Eddy.
